When asked why they chose a career in counselling, the majority of counsellors will answer, “to help others, to relieve other’s burdens, and to make a difference in someone’s life.” We are no different. Our focus as counsellors is on helping clients of all ages to build on their strengths, develop emotional self-reliance, strengthen relationships, and choose joy.
Counselling can be a very rewarding experience for clients seeking to overcome adversity, work through a life change, adapt to new circumstances, or any number of other reasons. These situations are inherently difficult and their exploration in counselling can bring some discomfort before relief is experienced.
